Puerto Viejo has a unique geographical position as one of the few points on the planet where the jungle meets the sea. Savor the scenic rainforest and jungle canopy of rich vegetation that harbors abundant wildlife including monkeys, sloths, and an array of exotic birds such as toucans and the venerable great green macaw. Our tropical coastline is rimmed with coconut trees and the surrounding mountains hold thrilling waterfalls.

We Are Unique

The oceanfront property of Casa Jessica & Changes In Latitude Seaside Suites sits directly in front of the Caribbean Sea. The property is nestled on a quiet beachfront road through the jungle just 3.5 kms from the center of Puerto Viejo where you can enjoy an eclectic mix of shopping, dining, and nightlife. Our large 4-bedroom beach house with 2 separate entrances is connected to the additional 3 rental suites above with a large covered breezeway. The house and rental suites can accommodate 17 people with 6 kitchens, 7 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms for the guests. There is an onsite manager available to assist with any needs throughout your trip. The beach house can be rented completely for large groups or separately for groups of 2 to 9 people. We have a large, tropical backyard garden with direct access to the river behind us and the secluded beach area out in front. Our eco-friendly property uses a rainwater collection system and our power supply is totally solar with a back-up generator for overcast days. Wi-Fi is provided by Starlink making it easy for those who work remotely to stay connected while enjoying the natural biodiversity that the Caribbean coast has to offer. Take in the clean fresh air of our beautiful beach haven while you enjoy wandering among the fruit-filled coconut trees on our wide stretch of shoreline. You’ll fall asleep to the sound of the ocean and awaken to a jungle symphony of chirping birds and howling monkeys. Wildlife surrounds you - iguanas, geckos, toucans, sloths, monkeys and the famous Blue Morpho butterfly. In the turtle season (summer and fall) huge leatherback turtles lay their eggs right on the beach in front of our property!

Our 4 bedroom beach house also has 3 fully equipped rental suites

  • The Jungle Suite (King Bed, private deck with hammock)

  • The Ocean Suite (Queen Bed, Closer to the ocean)

  • The Cayman Suite (Queen Bed + Bunk Beds, 4 seat island)

All suites have a private bathroom with shower, a fully equipped kitchen with a 4-burner propane stove, a full-size refrigerator, and a toaster oven. We provide coffee, tea, sugar, salt/pepper, cooking oils, and spices in the kitchen for guest use. Each unit contains ceiling fans and floor fans, air-conditioning is not necessary in our Caribbean-style property which was built for air-flow with the climate in mind. All suites have access to the shared beachfront balcony which has three dining tables and can seat up to 20 people.

Our beachfront area has two ranchos with beach chairs for seating which provides shade and an escape from the elements. There is also lighting for the evening if you wish to relax on the beach after sunset. There is also an oceanside swing set for you to enjoy, imagine yourself swaying under the stars with a piña colada in your hand!
